I thought it might take a little longer than this to  put a fitting first blog post together, but it looks like I was wrong. The principal machine I sew on is a Bernina 930, purchased new in 1987 from a man named Roland Sinnamon who had several sewing and fabric businesses in the Albany NY capital district area. You'd think that's enough of a machine for anyone, really, and it is. But after reading Peter Lappin at Male Pattern Boldness blog about his multiple machines, I started looking at used machines. Am I going back in time or what? I drove nearly an hour in yet another snow storm today and picked up a Singer 15-91 straight stitch machine in a cabinet. It runs, and came with around 6 bobbins and 80% of its manual. Great. I cannot even date it yet, since it's still upside down in the back of the car. It's going to need a cleaning and an oiling for sure. Pictures to follow.
